Mental Health First Aid Principles

Recorded at the Care Ministry Seminar 15 March 2021

The latest statistics indicate that 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health disorder at some stage, and a quarter of those will have more than one condition. In addition, one third of young people will have an episode of mental ill health by the age of 25. These figures indicate that if we haven’t personally struggled with mental ill health, it’s highly likely that someone close to us has.

Colleen Hirst, Christian Clinical Psychologist, helps to deepen our understanding of mental ill health and give us practical tips to be better equipped to support someone through these struggles. James Macbeth opens Psalm 42.
