A Pathway of Opportunity
How’s your personal progress in Share Life going this year?
Until last week I reckon my progress was super slow. I have been praying for a few people on my names list, I have been engaging with the GG material to help us keep mission on the boil, but I had not really taken any opportunities for the next step. But then it all changed.
Last week I had two opportunities to meet up with people I pray for and to be listening to their thoughts about life, the world and Donald Trump - isn’t it weird that everyone is talking about Trump. Anyway, enough about that for now. In both those conversations I had the chance to listen to them and to share my perspective on various topics. We had simple interactions about the way we understand things and I got to mention that Jesus is the most important person in my life and that I focus my life around his teaching, death and resurrection. It was nothing super profound but it is a platform for what comes next.
You see, on the basis of those chats, I reckon I am ready to invite my contacts to something at church. Now to help us make progress, we have built a little pathway forward from Easter to make it easy for all of us to take opportunities and to introduce those we are praying for to Jesus. Let me explain.
First of all Easter - I reckon Easter is the easiest invite opportunity for friends. They almost expect it when you have had some chats. It is the marquee weekend of the year for Jesus things and really a free kick invite. For me, I will definitely invite one of the people I chatted to last week to Good Friday.
The weekend after Easter we are calling Hope Sunday. Across the day on 27 April all our services will be cringe-free, guest friendly, Jesus focussed and provide an opportunity for people to respond to what they hear. If your friend can’t come at Easter, invite them to Hope Sunday. If they do come at Easter, follow up on the opportunity and invite them to Hope Sunday.
Then, starting 5 May is our next round of Share Life Mondays. The hope and prayer is that people who come at Easter or Hope Sunday may be willing to join us at Mondays to look at Jesus deeply in the Bible over an excellent free meal. And again, for me, this is where I am going to invite my other contact to. I reckon they are less likely to come to a service and more likely to come for a decent chat. They may only come one week, but I am praying they will come to at least 4 of the 7.
So there is our little pathway to help you jump on board God’s mission to see people become wholehearted disciples of Jesus. Easter, Hope Sunday, Mondays.

What part of the pathway could you invite someone to, to help them make progress with knowing Jesus in 2025?
