Parent Partnership Night

‘Parenting from the passenger’s seat: Teaching kids to navigate life’

Join us at our Parent Partnership night for dinner and a seminar by Matt Steele on ‘Parenting from the passenger’s seat: Teaching kids to navigate life’.

“Train up a child in the way they should go; even when they are old they will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

All parents long for their kids to navigate life and faith well. It’s our job to teach them how to do that. But there’s a tension that every parent knows all too well. How do we teach and give directions while also allowing them the space they need to learn to think for themselves?

That’s where Bowen Family Systems Theory can help. It provides a lens for thinking about how we parent and particularly for how we manage the tension between stepping in and stepping back, between suffocation and separation.

The night will include:

  • A catered dinner with parents and leaders

  • A presentation and workshop from Matt Steele

  • A time for Q&A

Date: 12 May
