Come together for a conversation about getting better at mission.
From 23 to 25 May, Growth Groups will join together for Share Life Go.
This year we will focus on how to talk to others about Jesus without becoming someone you're not.
Tuesday 23 May: 11am – 12pm (after Tuesday Church)
Tuesday 23 May & Wednesday 24 May: 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Thursday 25 May: 9:30am – 11:30am
Come with your Growth Group and sit together, or come on your own and join a table. You don't have to be a Growth Group member to attend.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline – 2 Timothy 1:6
At Christ Church this year we are putting mission at the forefront.
“As a church again this year we are bringing mission to the forefront of what we do… And you might say Nigel, if there are five characteristics to wholehearted discipleship, why are we prioritising one. Well it’s because of my swimming coach… I did butterfly and he went “oh my goodness.” And so that’s the one I needed help with the most. And I think friends this the one we need help with the most… our prayer for you is that you may launch into the year with this vision at the forefront of your attention and out of compassion for the lost and love for Christ and love for the people upon the earth you may demonstrate that your eyes are fixed on this throne by sharing life with others.” — Nigel Fortescue, Senior Minister
The reason mission is so important to us is because God puts mission at the forefront. God says:
"Every knee should bow" (Philippians 2:10) — God calls every person in every nation to honour Jesus
"So go and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19) — Jesus sends his people to make new disciples
"For Christ’s love compels us" (2 Corinthians 5:14) — Reconciliation with God is the most loving thing we have to offer
