The Origins of Western Healthcare

We benefit from a phenomenal health care system - however stretched it can be at times. It's important to know that it's driven by a logic that was once foreign to Western society: the strong caring for the weak and broken.

As part of our series of shared Christ Church Care Resources, in this video produced by the Centre for Public Christianity (CPX), we see that the witness of Christians in the early centuries of the church slowly changed the classical thinking and practice around sickness.

We are heirs to that change - and the challenge is to keep loving as they did.
