Question Life - A conversation, not a course

It’s common to live life without really questioning anything. From the time you are in Year 10 at school, life consists of continued rapid fire decisions that are placed before us, all of which can send you in a myriad of directions. Add in the wonder of google and the privilege of living in Sydney’s north and the world is your oyster.

School, uni, cadetship, grad program, work here, or there, in the upper hunter or in London, Vancouver or LA, work in this job, back to uni, work in that job, take a year off, go travelling, get married, stay single, have kids, take holidays, buy a unit or a house, work, earn, save, manage your super and then retire somewhere where you can see the beach and entertain any grandkids that come along.

What joy you can have by choosing your own adventure from that collection of options. But why is it that we do choose from those options? Is there a better set of options? A better pathway? Are those things going to give me life to the full or will I actually find it somewhere else?

In Term 4 every year, we run Question Life. It’s a 4 week conversation - not a course. People come together over lunch, hear from the Bible, and then have the opportunity to talk and think together about life. Some people come as spectators and say very little, others share all their thoughts and generate lots of great discussion.

We’d love you to come with a friend who is ready and willing to investigate Jesus in the Bible. Someone who is asking questions, intrigued by what you believe or just wants to understand Jesus more. Question Life is the perfect conversation for people like that and you bringing them along is the perfect opportunity to extend the conversation you’re already having. So who might you invite?

Well, let me share a little secret with you. Question Life is one of my favourite things that we do here at Christ Church. In the busyness of life it can be hard to find the time to really consider what’s important to us. And there is so much we can learn from each other and Question Life is a safe space to chat openly and honestly together! Every year I have made new friends, had significant conversations and grown in faith myself.

Perhaps the person with questions is actually you. Are you living the life God wants you to? Are you living life to the full? Is there more to life than what you can see? Are the decisions you make each day the decisions that really matter? Is your life leading somewhere meaningful or is it just leading to its end? Come and join us over lunch from October 22, question life with us. I’ll see you there.
